Imagine you were going skydiving for the first time. Your heart would be racing as the instructor gives you final instructions before you jump from the plane.
You ask an important question, " Are you sure this parachute will work?"
Now, which answer would you prefer your instructor to give:
"I believe it will work." or "I know it will work."
The word belief implies question. By definition there is a degree of uncertainty. Think about it, if you believe with certainty, then you wouldn't say, "I believe", you would say, "I KNOW".
To know is to be certain. There is no question in knowing. There can be no doubt found when you KNOW something. Take time to analyze your internal dialog and perspectives. Do the words you use imply empowerment or disempowerment? I'm reminded of a story I once heard about a community.
This was a test between believing and knowing.
The story goes like this...
Several years ago, a small farming community was experiencing a terrible drought. The leaders of the community called a prayer meeting in hope of everyone attending and holding a group prayer for rain.
One man was in attendance with his small son. As everyone was praying, the small boy reached up and tugged his father's shirt to ask, "Daddy, what is everyone doing?" The man explained that everyone was praying for rain and then went back to his prayer.
The boy looked around for a few more minutes and was puzzled. He tugged again on his dad's shirt and asked, "Daddy, if everyone is here to pray for rain, why didn't anyone bring an umbrella?"
Think about it...
Do you believe you can reach your goals or do you KNOW you can?

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

It's only two days, but......................................... MOTHER TONGUE INTENSIVE WAS HELL!!!!!
Okay Jolynn, Haryani and I went to Iris's house to study yesterday. But guess what we wasted our whole day away ...
....
....
watching horror movies.-_-'''
But to tell you the truth, iris's house really REALLY had the ideal setting for a horror movie. You turn off the lights, close the doors and windows, close the curtains and viola! The house is as dark as night. Plus special effects from the environment (e..g. rain and thunder outside) and it becomes the ideal horror movie spot for 'emo' people like us. Heheh:)
Then we stayed over till nighttime and started studying at aroung 7.00pm. But the more I read my chinese notes the more tired I become. And I need to go home before my parents get mad at me so we left at about 8.00 for the Bukit Panjang Plaza and I went home pretty late...
Then today I actually met Iris by accident and invited her over to my house. The first thing she did wheen she stepped into my house was to comment on how clean it actually looked. OMG is my house really that clean???? *looks around at the cluttered study table and messy bedrooms* A definite no-no to cleanliness.
Anyways we then went down to Limbang to study. Iris actually wanted to permanently stay in my house because she really like it!:) And you know what? When I went to macdonalds in Limbang the ice cream machine actually BROKE DOWN!!!! ARGH@#^$*%$)&*(^!!! In the end I did not get my ice creamT_T...
But Iris was really nice. She bought an extra coke and shared it with me. I was really touched. Awww if I were a guy I would definitely fall for her one hahaXD
Anyway my MT intensive not going very well leh... I really want to get my A1 for this so for now...
ABSTINENCE IS KEY.
